Launch of good friends network
Background

Currently the goodjobs portal has over 50,000 active hiring jobs across PMET and non-PMET levels for Singaporeans and PR across all industries.

We have conducted more than 50 physical jobs fairs across Singapore, the main gaps are always:

Lacking in job market awareness (i.e. What is out there?) No call-to-action (i.e. What can I do and what options do I have?)

Job seekers giving-up when there are no replies from hiring employers.

For resident-jobseekers who are professionals or executives, the usefulness of a career coach is evident. However, for many of the everyday resident job seekers and common folks who are struggling, or looking for rank-and-file positions, or just want secure employment, a certified career coach maybe a long and tedious process.

Resident-Jobseekers need a FRIEND now more than ever. Not a career coach but a helping guiding hand to understand the job/work options out there better

Sometimes a little bit of extra kindness goes a longer way - less theory; more practical kindness.

What is good friends network?

It is a volunteer movement targeting at providing that "last-mile" friendship and assistance to resident- job seekers.

The idea is simple - to encourage the resident-jobseekers to explore more job options, and to apply for more jobs across diverse industries because skills and experience is transferrable. The more times a resident-jobseeker applies for a job, the higher the chance of securing employment.

For example: a driver can seek better more secured employment across industries like logistic, marine, F&B, Hospitality and even in manufacturing or

retail. Beyond just gig or grab jobs.

The one mantra that goodjobs and the good friends network believe in is this -

that bringing a job home is the best expression of love.

Sometimes a little bit of extra kindness goes a longer way - less theory; more practical kindness.
